"My husband and baby have died from the virus."
Joanne has been infected since 2006 and has been on anti-retroviral treatment for the last six years.
Joanne breaks down in tears, expressing her heartfelt thanks that people from far away have come to help her when even her own people will not. Her tears are flowing and she holds her head in her hands. Sister Rose (a Serendipity Partner) rises and meets her half way. Joanne is bent over and the nun's arms wrap around her shoulders to hold her up.
Her father has took a second wife and was no longer interested in her or her children. "I live in fear he will move away and we will be homeless", she says.
With the help of Serendipity, Joanne is now qualified motor mechanic and her two children have had their schooling paid for.
